Open role

Founding Product Lead

Product

Full-time

San Francisco or New York (US remote considered)

Kai is a game that pays real money. Your job: make it one people come back to.

About the role

Kaius is two products that have to work as one. Players open Kai because it's fun and it pays. Partners, the AI teams who buy from us, come for high-quality data they can't get anywhere else. Right now our founders and engineers cover product in between everything else. You'll be the first person who owns it full time, working side by side with the Founders, and you'll build the product team that keeps it going.

What you'll do

  • Own product strategy and the roadmap across Kai and the Kaius platform

  • Own engagement first: first payout, the first week, the first month, and the loops that bring Players back. Sign-ups are just the loading screen

  • Turn what Partners need collected into quests Players actually want to do

  • Ship every week with engineering and design. You'll write the spec, and ship the prototypes

  • Go deep on data, then talk to Players to find out why the numbers moved

  • Set a high quality bar for Kai. Ship fast without shipping sloppy

  • Talk to Players in lots of countries, and to ML researchers at the labs we sell to. Often in the same week

  • Help hire our first PMs and set how product works here at Kaius

What we're looking for

  • You've owned a consumer product end to end through real 0-to-1 ambiguity, and you moved retention, not just installs

  • You've built growth loops (referrals, streaks, live ops) and have the numbers to show for it

  • You love games, ideally mobile. You can explain why one loop works and another one doesn't, and you obsess over in-game systems and economies

  • Technical enough to go deep with engineers and prototype on your own, with AI of course

  • You've led people, and you're happy to be hands-on again

  • Curious about people whose lives look nothing like yours

  • You write simply. We're remote-friendly, and concise writing is how we think clearly

Nice to have

  • Top mobile game studios

  • Earning or gig apps, payouts across countries

  • International and multilingual products

  • Data capture for AI or robotics

  • Founding or early-startup experience

Probably not for you if

You need a big team and a full roadmap process before you can move. Or you've managed roadmaps for a while but haven't shipped anything with your own hands lately. And if your growth playbook starts with buying installs, we're not there yet. Sorry.

Why now

Hard, valuable, fun. In that order. Making data collection fun enough that people choose it is a problem nobody has solved yet, and the platform side is already paid and growing. This should be the hardest thing you've done in your career.

How we hire

No AI screens, coding challenges, design take-homes etc. An initial call or coffee, then a couple of hours working with us instead.
